A signature is a stack of small pieces. Each one either comes from the person, from your organisation's settings, or from a campaign. Knowing which is which tells you where to go when something needs changing.

Photo or initials

Filled from photo_url. People without a photo in your directory fall back to their initials on a coloured disc, which looks deliberate rather than broken.

Because a person's own value wins, someone with a mobile number only on their record still shows it, even when the rest of the team does not have one.
